1600 Minnesotans have died from COVID-19 related illness, according to Minnesota Dept. of Health

(St. Paul MN-) Minnesota has hit the 1600 mark in COVID-19 deaths, with 6 more reported to the Minnesota Department of Health on Friday. While the daily death toll remains in the single digits, the number number of people hospitalized, 312, and in the ICU, 151, continue to grow after shrinking earlier this month. There were 779 additional cases, bringing the state's pandemic total to 54463. 47289 people have recovered.

Locally, Kandiyohi County reported 9 more cases bringing the total to 662. There were 28 more cases in Stearns County which is now at 2791, and Renville County is at 56 after two more were reported Friday. Chippewa County gained a case to put them at 93, and Meeker County stays at 83 and Swift County remains at 51 after no additional cases were reported.
