Another 1000-plus additional cases of COVID-19 reported in MN Monday

(Willmar MN-) Three area counties reported additional COVID-19-related deaths over the weekend. The Minnesota Department of Health says on Sunday Kandiyohi County reported it's 4th death since the start of the pandemic. Meeker County reported it's 3rd, and Renville County reported their 10th. Renville County's victim was a person between 85 and 89 who died in a long term care facility. Public Health Nurse Jill Bruns says there may be another 1 or 2 deaths announced pending confirmation. The Kandiyohi County death was a person in their 70s who was not in a long-term care facility.

Regarding cases, Stearns County Monday reported 33 more cases, 25 were reported in Kandiyohi County, 6 more in Swift, 4 more in both Chippewa and Meeker, 2 more in Renville and zero additional cases reported in Pope County.

Statewide, after record-breaking numbers of additional cases were reported over the weekend, there were 1178 cases reported Monday putting the state's total at 113,439. Of that number, 101,376 have recovered. There were 3 more deaths reported, bringing the state's death toll to 2144. 1 person was admitted to the hospital for COVID-19, and none to the ICU. Around 17,900 test results were announced Sunday.
