(Minneapolis, MN) -- Minnesota gun dealers say a surge in business is likely related to the coronavirus pandemic, recent incidents of civil unrest, and the presidential race. Gun shop owners say sales headed up in March when the emerging pandemic led to panic buying. The National Shooting Sports Foundation says there were just under 22 thousand background checks for gun purchases in Minnesota in August of last year. During the same month this year, background checks reached almost 35 thousand.
