Minnesota approaching 7000 COVID-19 deaths...another Stearns County victim reported

(St. Paul MN-) Minnesota is approaching the 7000 mark for COVID-19-related deaths during this pandemic. On Wednesday the Minnesota Department of Health reported 16 more deaths, bringing the state's total to 6978. One of the deaths Wednesday was a person in their early 90s from Stearns County. There were 1715 additional cases of coronavirus reported, putting Minnesota's total now at just over 547,000, and of that number, nearly 523,000 have recovered. The figures were based on approximately 20,000 test results.

Locally there were 43 more cases reported in Stearns County, 5 in Kandiyohi, 4 in Meeker, 3 in Chippewa, 2 in both Renville and Swift Counties and zero additional cases in Pope County. 44% of the population of Kandiyohi County has received at least one dose of the vaccination as of Monday.
