(St. Paul MN-) Cases of COVID-19 and COVID-related deaths went up slightly on Wednesday in Minnesota, but not by a huge amount. The Minnesota Department of Health says there were 783 more cases of coronavirus, bringing the state's pandemic total to just over 473,000, and of that number, nearly 463,000 have recovered. There were 10 more deaths reported, putting the state's death toll at 6390. The figures were based on approximately 18,600 test results.
Locally there were 17 more cases reported in Stearns County, 4 in Pope, 3 in Chippewa and Kandiyohi, and zero additional cases reported in Meeker, Renville and Swift Counties.
Since Monday there have been 34 more people hospitalized with 4 going to the ICU. And through Monday nearly 696,000 Minnesotans have had at least their first dose of vaccine, including 5808 in Kandiyohi County, which is 13.6 percent of the county's population.
