Minnesota reports fewest COVID-19 deaths since August 31st


(St. Paul MN-) Keeping in mind that Monday numbers are usually lower that the rest of the week, The Minnesota Department of Health Monday reported only 561 additional cases of COVID-19 and only 1 death. That gives the state nearly 480,000 cases of coronavirus since the pandemic began, and of that number, more than 466,000 victims have recovered. The figures were based on approximately 16,500 test results.

The single death brings the state's death toll to 6433, and is the lowest daily fatality figure since August 31st of last year. The last non-holiday report that listed zero deaths in Minnesota was April 13th.

There were 20 additional cases of COVID-19 reported Monday in Stearns County, 4 in Kandiyohi, 2 in Meeker, and zero additional cases reported in Chippewa, Pope, Renville and Swift Counties.
