State passes 7000 COVID-19 deaths...Kandiyohi County reports it's 80th

(Willmar MN-) The Minnesota Department of Health Saturday reported 2429 more cases of COVID-19, bringing the state's pandemic total now to more than 554,000. Of that number, nearly 528,000 victims have recovered. Minnesota has now had more than 7000 COVID-19-related deaths; there were 10 more deaths reported Saturday, including a Kandiyohi County resident in their early 60s, bringing the state's death toll now to 7005. There have now been 80 fatalities reported in Kandiyohi County. The figures were based on approximately 35,000 test results.

Locally, there were 90 cases of coronavirus reported in Stearns County, 18 in Meeker, 12 in Kandiyohi, 8 in Renville, 6 in Chippewa and Pope and 1 in Swift County. The Minnesota Department of Health says more than 15,000 Kandiyohi County residents have now had at least their first dose of vaccine, which is about 45% of the county's population.
