Two area deaths reported due to COVID-19

(Olivia MN-) Both Stearns and Renville Counties have reported COVID-19-related deaths on Wednesday. According to the Minnesota Department of Health, Renville County reported it's 9th death of the Pandemic, while Stearns reported it's 27th. Renville County Public Health Nurse Jill Bruns says the Renville County death was a person in their 90s who lived in a congregate care setting, who died a few weeks ago.

Bruns says some of the county's reporting was delayed, and the problem has been corrected. Statewide, there were 14 more deaths reported, putting Minnesota's total at 2101.

The health department says 918 more cases of coronavirus were reported statewide on Wednesday, putting the total at 106,651. Of that number, 96,616 have recovered, and 3 people were admitted to the hospital and 2 to the ICU on Tuesday. There were 13,500 test results reported, down slightly from the day before.

Locally, 48 more cases of COVID-19 were reported in Stearns County, 10 in Kandiyohi, 8 in Renville, 2 in Chippewa, 1 in Meeker, and zero additional cases reported in Pope and Swift Counties.
