(Minneapolis, MN) -- Thousands of Trump supporters and protesters are expected in downtown Minneapolis tonight for President Donald Trump's campaign rally (Thursday 7:00 p-m). Trump believes he can win Minnesota in 2020 and he and Vice President Mike Pence will rally their base inside Target Center. The Minnesota chapter of the Council on Islamic-American Relations will be staging a peaceful protest outside the arena. CAIR-MN director Jaylani Hussein says the Muslim community has been impacted by this president's language, "particularly his Islamophobia, as well as his policies including the Muslim ban." Richard Nixon was the last Republican presidential candidate to carry Minnesota in 1972. State G-O-P Chair Jennifer Carnahan says streaks are meant to be broken.
