New CABHS

(Willmar MN-) Officials hope the design of the hospital itself will help the recovery of patients at Willmar's new Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health Services Hospital. Minnesota Department of Human Services Deputy Commissioner of Operations Chuck Johnson says the new 10 million dollar, 18,000 square foot facility will remedy many of the shortcomings of the current CABHS facility on the Minnwest Technology Campus...

...Johnson says the facility is for up to 16 patients ages 4 to 17, and the new design will enable them to keep the younger and the older kids separated. He says it's a hospital, not a long-term facility, with a goal of turning out healthy children and adolescents in an environment that's safe for both patients and staff...

...Ground was broken at the site at 2301 Transportation Road last Friday, and Johnson says he hopes they can be open and operating sometime next summer.
