(Minneapolis, MN) -- When a five-hour standoff ended Sunday afternoon, Minneapolis police were dealing with a triple murder-suicide. The first officers on the scene risked their lives to pick up two boys lying in the yard and put them in a squad car. The boys couldn’t be saved. When the standoff ended, officers found a dead man inside, then a police robot found another man dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. While the drama played out, eight nearby homes were evacuated and some of those residents waited out the incident on buses. The name of the 56-year-old gunman and his three victims haven’t been released.
