Election 2020 V2

(Willmar MN-) Kandiyohi County Board Candidate Steve Gardner has accused his opponent, incumbent Steve Ahmann, of being divisive and signing a declaration opposing dialog between Christians and Muslims. Both men are former Willmar City Council members and are running for the 2nd District Commission seat which represents central and northeast Willmar. During Tuesday morning's Candidate's Forum on KWLM's Open Mic show, Gardner was asked his opinion on the state of race relations in the county, and Gardner said leaders must communicate and be willing to have tough conversations with all members of the community. He then accused Ahmann of siding with anti-muslim forces...

...Ahmann said in his 16 years on the city council and 4 years on the county board he has never taken any votes to discriminate against anyone, and was insulted by Gardner's assertions...

...Gardner pointed out a website where people can view a screen shot showing Ahmann had signed the declaration. Off the air, Ahmann said his name was signed by someone that he knew, and when he found out he had it removed.
