Drug deal

(Willmar MN-) A group of neighbors in southwest Willmar meet with Kandiyohi County Attorney Shane Baker this afternoon to discuss having a house declared a "public nuisance." The group recently circulated an on-line petition asking that the declaration be given to the house in the area of Trott Avenue and Southwest 9th Street due to an extended period of criminal activity. 477 people signed the petition, and the group's 5-person steering committee will be discussing the matter with Baker.

Several neighbors, police and government officials attended a meeting last month in which police revealed there had been 40 arrests and 6 search warrants executed on the property since 2013. Drugs, weapons and ammo have been seized from the house, which is one block away from the Willmar Area Learning Center and Garfield Park. A convicted Level 3 sex offender also lives there. Neighbor Bob Enos organized the petition drive, and claims there is still drug activity going on. The group would like to see the residents of the house evicted.
