(Madison MN-) Fugitive from Justice charges have been dropped against a Dawson woman charged with sexually molesting a 12-year-old girl in South Dakota. 26-year-old Kendra Lindblad was to have appeared on the fugitive charges in Lac Qui Parle County District Court Monday, but the charges were dismissed last Thursday. In a news release, her attorney, Ron Frauenshuh of Ortonville, said she voluntarily appeared in Lincoln County District Court in South Dakota last Monday and pleaded not guilty to two counts: Sexual Contact with a Child Under the Age of 16, and Attempted Sexual Contact. Court records say the alleged incidents occurred in Lincoln County, south of Sioux Falls, on or between November 1st of 2017 and February 28th 2018. Bail was set at $5000 and her next court appearance is set for March 17th.
Frauenshuh said in the court in Lincoln County, " Ms. Lindblad has been a very cooperative client and that she looked forward in proving her innocence." Frauenshuh said this has been "an unfortunate situation" and said he feels confident that she will be found not guilty.
Lindblad is a physical trainer, and owns and operates the Redemption Basketball Academy out of Redemption Church near Dawson. She had expressed interest in purchasing and using the West Gymnasium at the former Clarkfield School for her academy, but after the charges were brought against Lindblad, the Clarkfield City Council decided to demolish the gym.
