(Glencoe, MN) -- McLeod County Sheriff Scott Rehmann says he's retiring due to medical reasons. Rehmann announced his retirement this morning (Tuesday) with his staff and the McLeod County Board of Commissioners. Rehmann suffered a stroke on August 30th and explained in a letter that it left him unable to perform the essential functions of his job. Chief Deputy Tim Langenfield will assume interim sheriff's duties when Rehmann retires September 22nd. Rehmann served as sheriff for 14 years. He said, "I am thankful to the people of McLeod County for their support and friendship in my position to serve as a peace officer in the community."
