(Minneapolis, MN) -- A Minnesota judge says a Muslim woman's lawsuit against a county jail can proceed after she was forced to take off her headscarf and undress in front of guards. U.S. District Court Chief Judge John Tunheim said yesterday that 56-year-old Aida Shyef Al-Kadi's case can move to trial. Al-Kadi is suing Ramsey County for violating her constitutional rights and discriminating against her based on her religious beliefs. Advocates say the judge's decision is a victory for other Muslim women who have faced headscarf discrimination in the U.S.
