(Willmar MN-) Two Willmar women pleaded guilty to misdemeanor 5th Degree Assault charges for an incident that occurred at Willmar High School May 17th. 18-year-old Khadija and 19-year-old Hafsa Moalim entered the guilty pleas in Kandiyohi County District Court Monday afternoon and in exchange, charges of Disorderly Conduct-Fighting or Brawling were dismissed. They were each sentenced to 7 months unsupervised probation. Court records say the sisters were involved in a physical altercation with two fellow Willmar High School students whom they apparently were angry at after the sisters did not get credit for an assignment in a 9th grade science class. The victims told their parents when they reported the attack, they were told the Moalim sisters were in a bad mood because they had been fasting for the Islamic period of Ramadan and they shouldn't say anything, but school officials later reportedly apologized for telling them that.
