(Grand Marais, MN) -- Miracle-on-Ice star and Lutsen land developer Mark Pavelich is jailed in Grand Marais on felony assault and gun-related charges. Prosecutors say he struck a neighbor on the back, arms and legs with a metal pole after accusing them of "spiking his beer." Authorities say Pavelich was also in possession of an illegally-shortened shotgun. The Duluth News Tribune reports a judge said there's reason to doubt 61-year-old Pavelich's competency and ordered a mental health evaluation. Pavelich played at Minnesota-Duluth before winning the 1980 Olympic gold medal with Team U-S-A. He skated for the New York Rangers in the N-H-L.
