(Grey Cloud Island, MN) -- Searchers have located the wreckage of a plane that crashed Sunday evening in the south metro. Teams searched for the plane in a water-filled quarry on Grey Cloud Island, north of the Mississippi River. The sheriff said earlier that search operation conditions were difficult because the quarry walls are sand-based and the quarry itself is up to 200 feet deep. According to the Washington County Sheriff's Office, three people were on the aircraft when it took off.
