(Minneapolis, MN) -- The next legislative session is less than a month away, and Republican leaders and Democratic Governor Tim Walz are laying out their priorities for the session. Walz says he plans on spending nearly a half-billion dollars on education. Republicans say they want more modest spending and a tax cut. They say they also want to end the state's practice of taxing social security benefits. The tax generates about 400-million dollars for the state each year.
