(Willmar MN-) Riverview Dairy is moving forward with a 10,500 head dairy facility in Chippewa County's Grace Township. The Chippewa County Board held a public hearing on the facility November 16th, and afterward unanimously approved Riverview's Conditional Use Permit. Riverview is based in Morris. At past meetings area residents expressed concern about the operation's potential impact on their drinking water, but Riverview has met all of the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency's requirements. The facility will be built on the south side of Highway 40, about 17 miles west of Willmar. It will pay an annual salary of about 3 million dollars to it's employees, and will pay about $90,000-a-year to Chippewa County in property taxes. The operation will produce about 83 million gallons of manure per year.
