(Cottonwood MN-) The driver of a semi and his passenger were injured after the truck rear-ended a farm tractor and implement in Yellow Medicine County Tuesday morning. The sheriff's department says it happened at 1130 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 59 and 170th Avenue near Cottonwood. When Deputies arrived, they learned that a semi-tractor trailer had rear ended a farm tractor pulling a sprayer as it was making a left hand turn off of Highway 59. The driver of the semi was Steve Christenson of Bird Island. He was extricated from the semi and transported by North Air Care Helicopter to North Memorial, with unknown injuries at this time. Passenger Darlene Christenson was taken by Cottonwood ambulance to the Marshall Hospital. The driver of the farm tractor Jonah Dovre of Porter had no sign of injury at this time.

Yellow Medicine Sheriff’s Office is investigating the accident.
