(Minneapolis, MN) -- Tighter security will be in place on the University of Minnesota campus effective December 2nd after a student was stabbed with a hypodermic needle last weekend. Other students are asking why a campus-wide alert wasn’t issued, but school officials say the suspect was caught immediately and the threat was ended. One security upgrade will involve the requirement that students, faculty and staff will have to wear their university U-card when they are inside nearly a dozen health services buildings.
