Beverly A. Schwartz, 72, of New London, died Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. Her funeral service will be 11:00 am Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at Peace Lutheran Church in New London. Burial will be at the Paynesville Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Monday from 5-8:00 pm at the Johnson Funeral Home in New London and continue one hour prior to the service at the church. www.hafh.org
Beverly Ann Schwartz was born on February 28, 1949, in Belgrade, Minnesota, the daughter of William and Virginia (Milbrett) Lindahl. She grew up in New London where she received her education. On July 21, 1965, Bev was united in marriage to Larry Gravley. This union was blessed with two daughters. The family made their home in Cokato until 1974 when they moved back to New London. The couple later divorced but remained close friends.
On January 30, 1987, Bev was united in marriage to Roger DeGeest. They made their home at the Rooster Ranch in New London. Roger and Bev loved horses; they held many rodeos and trail rides and also trained horsed for many years. In 2000 Roger died. They shared in 13 wonderful years of marriage before his death. On June 28, 2002, Bev was united in marriage to Richard Schwartz. They continued living at the Rooster Ranch in New London. Bev worked as a home health aide for RAM and Diversified Lifestyles in Willmar, where she assisted adults with traumatic brain injuries. On January 15, 2021, Richard died. They shared 18 years of marriage before his death.
Bev loved being at the Rooster Ranch, helping train horses, and riding horses. She also enjoyed gardening, bird watching, baking, cooking, cookouts with friends, and spending time with her family and friends.
Beverly Ann Schwartz died Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at the age of 72. She is survived by her daughters, Michele Gravley-Anderson of Spicer and Tricia (Bruce) O’Neill of Spicer; stepchildren: Shawn DeGeest, Ryan (Ilah) Schwartz, Kimberly Schwartz, Shawn Schwarz, Jenny (Ben) Jones, and Michael Schwartz; grandchildren: Areie (Ross)McMeen, Alexa Anderson, Taya Anderson, Kya Anderson, and Jake O’Neill; great-grandson, Evan McMeen; siblings, Dennis Lindahl, Vicki (Jack) Christian, and Robert (Kim) Lindahl; and many nieces and nephews.
Bev was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Larry Gravley, Roger DeGeest, and Richard Schwartz; son-in-law, Anthony Anderson; stepson, Greg Schwartz; and his siblings, Barbara Ardoff, and Pam Solmonson.
