Gregory F. Richter, 70, of Willmar, died Tuesday, May 21st, after losing his battle with depression. His memorial service will be 11:00 am, Thursday, June 13th at Assembly of God in Willmar. Visitation will be one hour prior to his service at the church. Arrangements are with Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar. Memorials preferred to Depression Research or Suicide Prevention.
The Man known to our family as a Cherished Husband, Greatest Father and Grandfather we could ever be blessed to have known. Most friends and acquaintances knew him with his great head of hair as “Sam Elliot”, “Albert Einstein” or “Mark Twain”. He never went unnoticed and will never be forgotten. With broken hearts our family dearly misses Gregory Fabian Richter, 70, who passed away on May 21st, 2019. He was born February 6th, 1949, to Fabian and Bernice (Baker) Richter and grew up in Wadena, MN. After high school he was drafted into the Vietnam War. Greg worked for Frontier Telephone for 35 years in different locations throughout Minnesota. Greg married Doris Braith June 21st 1975. They welcomed four children, nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. Greg was passionate about rebuilding Jeeps, finding and restoring antiques and creating a Texaco gas station and a home that everyone loved to visit.
He is survived by his wife Doris of Willmar; children: Bryan (Holly) Richter of Glenwood, MN, Chrissy Quimby of Willmar, MN, David Richter of Willmar, MN and Jessica (Ryan) Buer of Blooming Prairie, MN, five sisters and one brother. He was preceded in death by his parents.
