Linda Lee Kimpling, age 74, of Sacred Heart, died Friday, January 20, 2023, at the Olivia Hospital. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Sacred Heart. The Rev. Michelle Kleene will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 11-1:00 p.m. at the church in Sacred Heart. Arrangements are with Dirks-Blem Funeral Service, Renville.
Linda Lee Kimpling was born on May 7, 1948, in Redwood Falls, Minnesota to Russell and Darlene (King) Maxa. Linda and her family lived in Seaforth and Chicago prior to moving to Echo. She graduated from Echo High School in 1967. She was united in marriage to Ivan Hiepler in 1968 in Echo. The later divorced. Linda was united in marriage to Ronald Kimpling on October 29, 1988, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Sacred Heart. They lived in Sacred Heart and Linda worked for 35 years at Warner Manufacturing. In 2020, they moved to Granite Falls. Linda loved riding horses, decorating for the holidays-especially Halloween and Christmas. She also loved camping, going shopping and supporting Amazon, but most all, spending time with her grandchildren. They were the most important part of her life.
She is survived by her husband Ronald, her daughter and sons: Cheri Hiepler of Paynesville, Jeff (and Trina) Hiepler of Marshall, Sheldon (and Connie) Kimpling of Spicer, Scott (and Dena) Kimpling of Norwood Young America, and Mike (and Kelly) Kimpling of Norwood Young America; 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren; her sister Brenda Zimmerman of Lucan; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother-in-law Gary Zimmerman.
