Lowell H. Breems died Sunday afternoon, May 19, 2019 at his home in Willmar at the age of 80.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 24, 2019 at the Rock of Life Church in Willmar.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.  In lieu of flowers memorials can be sent to American Cancer Society or Rice Hospice.  

Lowell was born January 20, 1939 in Prinsburg, Minnesota, the son of Alexander “Sam” and Henrietta (Swierenga) Breems.  He grew up and received his education in Prinsburg. Lowell served in the Army Reserves from 1956 – 1958. He was united in marriage to Mary Thurston of Olivia, on April 8, 1961. They were married for 58 years and made their home in Willmar.  He made his career working at Welder’s Supply Company of Willmar, MN. Lowell enjoyed hunting, fishing, amateur radio & electronics, motorcycling and spending time with family and friends.

Lowell is survived by his loving wife, Mary (Thurston) Breems, 3 children, Steven Breems of Minneapolis, Julie (Neil) Orlowski of Bloomington, and Craig Breems (Valerie Larson) of Brooklyn Center; 5 grandchildren, Jessica (Pete) Anderson, Alexander Orlowski, Thomas Breems, Megan Orlowski and Sarah Breems; and great-grandchild, Kaelyn Rae Anderson; sisters, Dorothy Slagter of Willmar and Mardi (Tom) MacNally of Naples, FL.; brother, Charles (Barb) Breems of Blaine and an aunt, Helena Swierenga of Prinsburg,

He is preceded in death by his parents Alexander (Sam) and Henrietta Breems.
