Mary Jane Eickhoff, 91, of Belgrade, died Tuesday, January 3rd at St. Cloud Hospital. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am, Saturday, January 7th at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Belgrade with interment in the church cemetery later this spring. Visitation will be one hour prior to the mass at the church. Funeral arrangements are with Harvey Anderson - Johnson Funeral Home in Belgrade. Memorials are preferred to St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in lieu of flowers. www.hafh.org
Mary Jane was born September 24, 1931, in Crow River Township, rural Belgrade, Minnesota, the only daughter of Tony and Florentine (Rose) Stern. She grew up on a dairy and crop farm and attended country school in District #75 (Knutson School) and graduated from Belgrade High School in 1949.
Following graduation, she worked at the Belgrade High School, Superior Feeds and for most of her life at North American State Bank.
On June 22, 1957, she was united in marriage to Ervin Eickhoff at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Following their marriage, they continued to work and live in the Belgrade area.
She was a lifelong member having been baptized, confirmed and married at St. Francis de Sales. Mary Jane was also a Life Member of the VFW Auxiliary. She was a kind, generous and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who demonstrated her strong and devote faith to her family. She enjoyed a good card game, especially Skit, of which she played to win.
Surviving are her children, Steven (Marilyn) Eickhoff of Moorhead, Barbara (David) Hess of Paynesville, Mark (Laurie) Eickhoff of Watertown, and Amy (Tom) Porwoll of Rockville. Seven grandchildren: Christy Eickhoff, Amanda (Jerad) Eback, Jen (Antonio Vega) Hess, Kim (Paul) Meirick, Adam Porwoll, Erin (Bill) Utter and Eli Porwoll; great grandchildren: Vincent, Fiona and Luca Vega, Sophie and Ella Meirick, and one on the way. Also surviving is her sister-in-law, Sandy Eickhoff and brother-in-law, Larry Allmaras and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Ervin.
