“Monster” Mike Schultz was injured during a snocross race in 2008 that led to the amputation of his left leg above the knee. To most pro athletes, this would have been a career-ending injury, but not to Mike. Within months, not only was he engineering his own prosthetic he was racing and competing at a high level. Ten years later, Mike won gold (snowboard-cross) and silver (banked slalom) medals in the PyeonyChang 2018 Paralympic Winter Games for Team USA.
