The Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa Jaguars started the game with an 8-2 run and never looked back, winning 37-30 in Paynesville Thursday night against the Bulldogs.
They led 26-14 at the break, and scored the first four points of the 2nd Half before the Bulldogs staged a rally, which included an 11-0 run, to get within five points late in the game. Kailey Fischer ended the Jags scoring drought with a pair of free throws put the Jaguars up by seven, the final margin.
Fischer led the Jaguars scoring with nine points. The game’s leading scorer was the 2-8 Bulldog’s Kaitie Uhlenkamp with 10 points. The Bulldogs are now 0-4 in the Central MN Conference.
The next game for the 11-3 Jaguars girls, who are 5-0 in the Central MN Conference, is Tuesday, January 18, when they will travel to Kimball to take on the Cubs.
