(Detroit, MI) -- The Minnesota Twins topped the Detroit Tigers 6-3 in the series opener at Comerica Park. The Twins scored two runs in the eighth inning to break a 3-3 tie. Nelson Cruz, C-J Cron and Mitch Garver homered for Minnesota, and Marwin Gonzales had four hits. Twins starter Michael Pineda' returned from the injured list and pitched five innings of three-run ball for a no-decision. Ryne Harper tossed a scoreless seventh inning for his first big league victory and Blake Parker closed the door for his ninth save. Kyle Gibson gets the start in game two this afternoon against Detroit's Gregory Sota (Saturday 3:10 P-M).
