(St. Paul, MN)  --  The Minnesota Wild are preparing for the start of training camp on Monday, which will lead to the start of the 24-team postseason tournament.

Minnesota interim head coach Dean Evason (EVE-uh-son) says he is looking forward to the opportunity to get his team ready to make a run in the tournament.  He compares the event a little bit to the Olympics or the World Championships, where he says talent matters, but so does team chemistry.  Evason says they have several players with experience in such tourneys and they are going to call upon them to use that experience to be ready to go and understand the dynamics of tournament play.  Evason says he will start slow in the training camp before ramping up the intensity as it moves forward.

The postseason is expected to start on August 1st in Edmonton.  The Wild and Canucks will play an opening round best-of-five series.  N-H-L players are expected to ratify the plan to move forward by the end of the week.
