Willmar and St. Cloud Cathedral traded leads early before both defenses clamped down and nobody scored from the floor for nearly nine minutes.  Makenzie Jones broke the drought with a deep three-pointer to give Willmar a four-point lead 14-10.

After both teams were unable to grab a lead of more than two pints, Jones and Ashley Prahl powered a 16-1 run for the Cards to build a 44-30 lead.  Willmar hit 9 of 9 from the free throw line late to hold on to the lead.  Jones led the way for Willmar with 19 points, Prahl had 10 points, and Callie Slagter scored 7.   Charita Lewis scored 15 pointed to pace the Crusaders, Faith Van Erp tallied 7 points.

Willmar improves to 10-5 for the season and will host Monticello on Saturday afternoon.

St. Cloud Cathedral falls to 5-7 and goes on the road to face Albany.
